74 वर्षांची परंपरा असलेल्या साधना साप्ताहिकाच्या वतीने मागील 14 वर्षांपासून दरवर्षी बालकुमार दिवाळी अंक प्रकाशित केला जातो. हा अंक जरी 10 ते 15 वर्षे वयोगट समोर ठेवून काढला जात असला तरी पालक, शिक्षक आणि वाचनाची सवय असलेल्या कोणालाही आवडतो. गेली काही वर्षे हा अंक विशिष्ट थीम घेऊन काढला जातो. या वर्षीच्या अंकाची थीम आहे चार देशांतील सहा चित्रपट. हे चित्रपट मुलांना पाहायला आवडतील व समजतील असे आहेत, या चित्रपटांच्या केंद्रस्थानी बाल व कुमार वयोगटातील मुले-मुली आहेत, पण हे बालचित्रपट नाहीत. त्यातून त्या मुला-मुलींचे भावविश्व प्रकट होते आणि त्यांच्या दृष्टीतून सभोवतालाचे दर्शनही घडते. हे सहा लेख वाचणाऱ्या लहान-मोठ्यांच्या मनात मूळ चित्रपट पाहण्याची इच्छा तीव्र होईल, एवढेच नाही तर आपल्या सभोवतालाकडे अधिक सजगपणे व संवेदनशीलपणे पाहण्याची दृष्टी मिळेल.
