Anand Palande started his journey in the outdoors under the tutelage of his elder brother Ramakant. Initially, it was limited to the exploration of nearby mountains. Later he realised the importance of understanding the heritage and history of the places he was visiting. Under the guidance of his elder brother, he started keeping meticulous records of all his adventures however small. This habit was useful when he penned many books on various aspects of mountaineering. These are referred to extensively in the trekking community even today. He founded “Giripremi “with able partners like Ushaprabha Page and Dilip Nimbalkar. Stepping aside and giving an opportunity to young blood in the field, marks the greatness of the man.
