Real-Time Crime

It was a busy week one of the trial against the Texas teen accused of murdering another teen at a track meet last year. The prosecution called a total of 21 witnesses to the stand, resting their case against Karmelo Anthony Saturday afternoon. Jurors heard from coaches and other students who were in the tent at the time of the stabbing of 17 year old Austin Metcalf. The defense ended the Saturday court session by calling its first witness to the stand.

Karmelo Anthony Murder Trial: Prosecution Rests ... On a Saturday

The 20 year old Auburn student who was last seen walking towards hiking trails in Japan, was found dead on Saturday in a mountainous area outside of Kyoto. The parents of Weston Higginbotham made the tragic announcement after asking for the public’s help in finding their son. The family said Weston he took off on his own, after a disagreement during the family trip to Japan to celebrate his younger brother’s high school graduation.

A judge has dismissed second degree murder charges against the leading candidate for Lonoke County Sheriff., 37-year-old Aaron Spencer. Spencer was in pursuit of 67-year-old Michael Fosler, who kidnapped his 13-year-old daughter while out on parole for allegedly sexually assaulting her months earlier. Spencer admits to running him off the road, shooting and killing Fosler and rescuing his daughter in the process.
