Both the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois are suing the Trump administration to stop the deployment of National Guard troops to the nation’s third largest city. Correspondent Haya Panjwani reports the president was asked if he would invoke the Insurrection Act in order to fight crime in some American cities, and said to stop crime and protect police nothing is off the table.

Shutdown Heads Toward Week Two

The government shutdown is heading into its second week with no end in sight. Washington correspondent Sagar Meghani reports that two votes on Monday in the Senate each failed to move both sides any closer to finding a compromise.

In the Middle East, talks are ongoing in Cairo in an effort to enact President Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza and return all hostages to Israel.
