Skeptical of Sasquatch stories despite extensive wilderness experience, he found an artificially excavated chamber behind a boulder, containing signs of past use. After a rattlesnake encounter and a hailstorm, he returned to find the cave sealed by another boulder. Feeling watched, he spotted large footprints and encountered a tall, hairy, humanoid figure who silently gestured for him to leave.
