On the morning of Wednesday, April 19th, 1995 an ex-army soldier turned homegrown terrorist Timothy James McVeigh blew up the Alfred P. Murrah building in downtown Oklahoma City. He had conspired with others to carryout this horrific act against his fellow Americans. April 19th, is also Patriot’s Day. In 1995 it was the sad two year anniversary of the conclusion of the Waco Siege resulting in the deaths of many American citizens. This too, would be that day that the state of Arkansas executed Richard Snell. Snell was convicted of hate crimes, murder, and a man who once conspired to blow up the Alfred P. Murray building.

Their father John, claims the boys were abused by their mother and he was getting them out of a bad situation. However John’s story does not add up. Law Enforcement does not believe him and today John sits behind bars. This week we crack a beer and discuss this stranger than fiction true crime story.

November 18, 1993 in a quiet suburb of St. Louis, a 4th grader disappears on her way home from school. 9 year old Angie Housman was last seen departing the school bus after arriving at her normal stop. Something happened between the bus stop and home and she vanished. There were similar cases and victims nearby at the time which complicated the investigation. Sadly, Angie was just one of many victims that are discussed throughout this story. This is the story of an investigation that lasted decades and the dedicated detectives that lived, worked, and closed out one of the most heartbreaking cases that we have reviewed.

On June 4, 2019, a little after 5 P.M., longtime friends Carnell “Nell” Sledge and Katherine “Kate” Brown arrived at the Rocky River Reservation which is a section of the Cleveland MetroParks. Both met at a pull-off gravel parking lot near the Lorain Road Bridge. Carnell and Katherine were shot and killed near a park bench shortly after arriving. Carnell was only 40 years old and Katherine was just 33 years old. These homicides are still unsolved. We covered this case before (see below) and will continue to follow up as necessary until an arrest(s) is made. Anyone with information regarding these murders is asked to call the FBI’s Cleveland field office at 216-622-6842. Parkersburg Police and her family have been desperately seeking answers and help trying to locate Gretchen. Now, after the passage of time they all fear the very worst. Police worked diligently and swiftly with their investigation. Evidence brought them to question the actions, movements, and motivations of one man in particular. Police believe that late that night Gretchen’s path crossed with his and law enforcement wants to know what he knows. Parkersburg Police is seeking help from the general public as well. She served God and her community, offering goodwill to all. This was a brutal and horrific crime. The early reports stated her body was posed, signifying a crucifixion.
