A goal in starting this podcast was to bring to a larger audience, the experience that we have within our beauty community here in Brooklyn. Our beauty community is not one that is either only black or white, but every color of the rainbow in between. As women that navigate easily between cultures, we know that the key to understanding each other is speaking openly and honestly about where we come from and where we are going. Today’s guest Rooshy Roy, co-founder of the beauty startup AAVRANI is a super special guest because she is the first guest who reached out to us to be on the podcast. So we didn’t know much about Rooshy going into this interview but came out learning so much about this incredible female founder, the Indian diaspora, and ways in which it mirrored the Jewish and African diaspora. We also talk about heritage, staying true to yourself, following your dreams, and the importance of being seen in consumer goods. Rooshy is a Warton graduate, she was on Forbes 30 under 30, she’s super compassionate, kind, and funny and we know you’re going to love this episode!
