Carla Hayden is the first female and only the 14th Librarian of Congress in history since the Library of Congress was established in 1800. In an episode of "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations," she talks about the library's history; how it's evolved into the largest library in the world with 178 million items, as well as the challenges our society faces in the digital world. She also discusses her efforts to make the library and its unique collections more accessible to the public. In an episode of "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations," CEO Dave Ricks talks about how the company will begin studies this year to see if its weight-loss medicines can also be used to treat addictive behaviors like alcohol abuse, smoking and drug addiction. For many football fans, Roger Goodell is the only NFL Commissioner they’ve known, with the 65-year-old now in his 19th year at the helm of America’s most popular pro sport. In an episode of “The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations,” Goodell talks about NFL’s international expansion, and that adding an 18th game to the regular season schedule is the “logical” next step for the league. He also discussed the NFL allowing private equity firms to take passive minority stakes in teams. There’s been some fan backlash on this move, but Goodell tried to ease those concerns, saying he doesn’t think he’ll “ever allow institutional [investors] in a controlling position, at least in the foreseeable future.” This interview was recorded January 3 in New York.

aspirations ahead of his own reelection bid next year. Moore also pledged to 
work with the Trump's administration to find common-sense solutions for

Bank of America Chairman & CEO Brian Moynihan says over-regulation of lenders is the main driver of customers being shut out of the US banking system and not political bias, “We bank everybody. The real question was about over-regulation frankly,” he said in an interview on "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations." This as President Trump publicly rebuked Moynihan at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, accusing the bank of limiting business with certain clients. Moynihan also talked about his inflation expectations, working with the current administration and the company being a bank of opportunity. Former US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said he likes the idea of an across-the-board 10% duty, but markets need clarity and understanding. In an episode of "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations," Mnuchin explains that he anticipates lower rates next year and is predicting “about 4% 10-year Treasuries.” Mnuchin who worked under President Trump during his first term describes the debt ceiling as an important mechanism and hopes that the President focuses on Social Security reform in the second half of his term. He was physician to the late Apple founder Steve Jobs and former American politician and professional football player Jack Kemp. Dr. David Agus M.D., is a prominent oncologist and medical researcher who says that when it comes to treating cancer, there's been tremendous progress, but there's still a long way to go. In an episode of The David Rubenstein Show: Peer to Peer Conversations," Dr. Agus discussed the progress and challenges in cancer treatment, importance of early detection and how technologies like AI and stem cell therapies could transform healthcare in the future. As 1.2 billion young people in emerging markets enter the workforce, he emphasizes the importance of equipping them with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed. Ajay Banga

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. She was first appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1980 by President Jimmy Carter, then to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton in 1993. 

 

Ginsburg is the second out of only four female justices to ever be confirmed to the court. 

Ginsburg sat down with David Rubenstein, co-founder of the Carlyle Group, and host of the Bloomberg television show, Peer to Peer Conversations, to discuss her health, the dissent that earned her the nickname of the "Notorious RBG," and the politics on the Supreme Court.
