Small Town Murder

This week, in Yankton, South Dakota, the discovery of a headless, handless, footless woman, on top of the ice, in a small river ends a massive search for a woman who vanished. She was last seen by her boyfriend, who has a lot of brain damage, and literally hammers nails into wood, with his bare hands. He also went on a 600 mile adventure, to the same place where the woman's body was found, while she was missing! Coincidence, or horribly cold blooded murder??
 

 
Along the way, we find out that frat boys maybe shouldn't write country songs, that it's actually physically possible to hammer nails with your hands, and that you don't cut the head off of a person that you didn't kill!!

#551 - The Hammer Hands Killer - Yankton, South Dakota

This week, in Kerby, Oregon, a feud between neighbors boils over, when one of the neighbors ends the whole thing, by killing the other man. This is ruled self defense, so the man gets some new neighbors, who he doesn't like much better. Dogs barking, cats using a garden as a litterbox, giant lights, beamed into bedrooms, a property line dispute, chopped down trees, a junk pile, and a makeshift "fence from hell" cause murder to be the only solution. Who will survive the neighbor war??
 

 
Along the way, we find out that you can actually eat acorns, that it's very strange when no one can tell who's right, when people are arguing, and that kill one neighbor, shame on you, kill two neighbors...

His dream is complete with some uncanny details that perfectly match the crime scene, including a symbolic position of the body. Is he the real killer?

He is sent to prison, and earns parole, living a simple reclusive life, until one day, when he surprises everyone by attacking more people, leading to a manhunt, some strange "Satatnic" writings, and a wild conclusion to the story!!
 

 
Along the way, we find out that scarecrows don't scare people, that it's very weird to laminate pages of a Hustler magazine, and that sometimes, you can tell exactly what someone is going to do, based on what they've done in the past!!

Detectives seem to have no clue who could have done this, until a old neighbor, with a violent past confesses. But police still don't think he's the guy, and focus on the late woman's husband. Who did it? The neighborhood murderer, or the mild mannered economist husband??

Along the way, we find out that Nelly won't even come to the county fair, that having someone shoot at you, doesn't make you innocent of murder, and that some people will never acknowledge the truth, even when it's being screamed in their face!!

Along the way, we find out why only horses march in this town's parade, how much evidence can possibly exist before you're actually arrested, and what you should do when a bloody acquaintance shows up at your door at 4 o'clock in the morning!!
