Since December of 2024, the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, and the prosecution of the man accused of pulling the trigger, Luigi Mangione, has played out in the media and in multiple courtrooms. 
Our guest today has covered this case from the beginning. Brian Buckmire is a defense attorney and ABC News Legal Analyst. He’s also the host of ABC's new podcast series Burden of Proof: Luigi Mangione. It’s the second season of a show that, in its first season, covered the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. 
Now, covering Mangione, Brian has sat in courtrooms, read the filings, and talked to the people closest to this case. Just weeks ago, after episodes of the podcast had begun airing, Mangione stood up and pleaded guilty to federal charges, setting off what may be a consequential double jeopardy fight in an already high-profile case.

Additional remains have been identified, and a set of mystery photos are at the center of a new documentary as we approach the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Plus, remains found near Nancy Guthrie's last seen location; a docu-series in the Mica Miller case; and finally, a plea in federal court didn't relieve Luigi Mangione of state charges. Freaky Friday: Episode 228

With an extra-marital affair behind them, Allan and Betty Gore seemed to be back on track in their marriage. Betty was leading a Marriage Encounter group, and Allan was trying to reduce the number of work trips that took him away from his wife and their five-year-old and eleven-month-old daughters. When he left on a work trip Friday, June 13, 1980, Allan never knew that would be the last time he would see his wife alive. Their small community would be rocked by a brutal murder committed in broad daylight by someone so close to them.
