The Montane Spine Races feature three extraordinary challenges. The original Winter Spine is a grueling 268-mile ultramarathon across the UK, drawing hundreds of participants, including elite athletes like Jasmin Paris. The Summer Spine follows the same punishing route but takes place in June, offering a unique test of endurance under warmer conditions and extended daylight. Join Jenni on RunPod as she welcomes back comedian, podcaster, and self-proclaimed running nerd Helen Thorn! 

Best known as one half of the hilarious Scummy Mummies, Helen isn’t just about the laughs—she’s also a seasoned marathon runner, having conquered eight marathons (with her sights set on ten!).

In this episode, Helen shares her passion for running, why she believes marathons are like childbirth ("you forget the pain!"), and why the Copenhagen Marathon holds a special place in her heart—mainly for the pastries.

This week joining the Runpod Run Club is a Lord. Yes, the first Lord of Runpod, and a man who needs no introduction. In 1980 he held all four middle distance World Records simultaneously and went on two be a two time Olympic Gold Medal Winner, part of the International Olympic Committee and President of World Athletics, it is of course, Seb Coe!
Seb chats to Jenni about his incredible career, starting out at the Hallamshire Harriers and working his way to Gold at not one but two very unique Olympic games, how his family will notice if he doesn't run, and what the odds are on Team GB getting more that 67 medals at the Olympics this year.
