In today’s session at the Economic Club of Washington, chairman Jay Powell said the ‘disinflationary process’ had begun, but the Fed will likely need to continue raising interest rates to bring inflation down further. Powell’s comments sent risk assets swinging this afternoon, but overall markets remain relatively flat.
