The sheriff who has become the national face of the Nancy Guthrie investigation, is now legally defending himself against growing accusations of misconduct. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is under fire for not being honest about his past work history, including 8 reported suspensions while working as an officer in El Paso. Among the allegations, that he nearly beat a handcuffed suspect to death with a flashlight. A process to remove the sheriff could begin as early as mid-May, as the investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance continues.

Two doctoral students at the University of South Florida went missing within one hour of each other and police are now asking for the public’s help. 27-year-old Zamil Limon and Nahida Bristy were last seen separately on and near campus on the morning of April 16th.
