We are learning more about the couple who seemingly got engaged on the needle of the Empire State Building this week in New York City. Authorities have charged Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus with multiple felonies, including reckless endangerment and burglary after learning they spent the night in the iconic tower and brought tools with them to break locks to gain access to the needle. The two left court hand in hand, smiling, and gave another photo op for the cameras, kissing in front of a NYC subway station. But perhaps the most interesting twist to the story that captivated the Big Apple, Ivan’s own father now telling the media this was all a publicity stunt and that the two are already married.

Daredevil Couple Facing Multiple Felonies As Engagement Status Is Questioned: Are They Already Married?

Hours before the July 2nd deadline imposed by a federal judge, the Department of Justice asked the judge for 60 more days OR accept its reasoning why it would not produce unredacted versions of several documents. The reasoning included protecting victims, protecting people from disturbing allegations without context and it even used “the dog ate my homework” excuse. The DOJ claims they can’t find an unredacted version of a list of possible Epstein co conspirators.

67-year-old David Hearn, who represented the United States in three Olympics as a canoeist, is now fighting for his freedom. U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro announced the felony charge against Hearn after she says he “violently” and “maliciously” destroyed 2 square feet of reflecting pool liner. Hearn has admitted to touching the liner out of curiosity, but denies removing or damaging it. His attorneys say this is a misuse of government power to shift blame for their own failures refurbishing the pool.

Former Olympian Facing 10 Years In Prison For Alleged Reflecting Pool Vandalism

Attorneys and the family of 1-year-old Kohen Wiley say a preliminary autopsy contradicts the police version of events that led to Kohen’s death. Officers claim Kohen’s mom and her friend were driving their vehicle towards police as they were trying to flee a Walmart after reportedly stealing a box of diapers. However, the independent autopsy suggests the bullet that struck little Kohen came from the passenger side window, not the front windshield. The question, why would an officer shoot into the vehicle from the side, if he maintains the car was about to run him over? And why won’t police release the bodycam footage from the officer?

Autopsy Calls Into Question Why Police Shot And Killed A 1 Year Old Boy.

Ohio officials revealed the latest chilling details on the 16 children discovered in a rural Ohio house this week, saying if they had been found 24 hours later, “there was a very high probability that we’d be dealing with a death or multiple deaths of these children.” Police on the scene said some of the kids, who range from 18 months to 18-years-old, couldn’t speak or communicate, saying they looked like feral animals. There are so many questions surrounding the four adults living in the home, now charged with 16 counts of child endangerment, facing life in prison for this unthinkable abuse.

Horror House: New Details On 16 Kids Found In Filthy 12X12 Room, Several Close To Death

Following a report by Reuters this week that NONE of the Nancy Guthrie ransom notes are legitimate, the FBI has released a statement attempting to clarify what they believe is real and what isn’t. While the feds admit that some of the notes were, in fact, extortion attempts, they insist that some of the other ransom notes “may potentially be legitimate and are still to be investigated as such.” This is just another confusing twist in the mystery that deepens with every confusing headline.

NPR correspondent Nina Totenberg wrote a formal apology to Justice Samuel Alito for publishing a report about his retirement, saying she was “so, so sorry.” It was a shocking headline that was up for only a few minutes before it was replaced with a note from the editor saying the article was “published in error.” NPR explained Totenberg misheard an announcement at the Supreme Court, Totenberg saying “it was the worst professional mistake of my more than 50 years in journalism.”

NPR Reporter Apologizes To Justice Samuel Alito After Falsely Reporting His Retirement

It was a remarkable spectacle here in New York City this afternoon! A well known daredevil duo scaled the needle of the Empire State Building from the Observation Deck to first unfurl a banner about love…. And then, he put a ring on it. 32-year-old Ivan Beerkus proposed to his girlfriend 33-year-old Angela Nikolau as police and news helicopters surrounded the couple celebrating 1454 feet above Manhattan. They were both promptly arrested after they climbed down to a safe enough level for police to take them into custody.

Just one day after attorneys for accused Unitedhealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione announced an “affirmative psychiatric defense” they withdrew it. There was a Thursday deadline for Mangione’s legal team to provide details of their defense to prosecutors, that’s when they gave the court a one sentence withdrawing their previous notice. Now the question becomes, what possible defense could Mangione’s attorneys be considering for both his upcoming state and federal trials?
