Jesus was a faithful Jew who followed the Sabbath rest and the traditional forms of piety. However, he also puts more importance to delivering people from their ailments and torments even if it means healing on a Sabbath. May we learn to adhere to the spirit of God's commandments and not simply obeying out of compliance as our way of loving God.
