Forty-one years ago, the Chamberlain family went on holiday to the Australian outback. Their idyllic getaway turned to tragedy when their young child was taken in the night from their tent. What ensued was a modern-day Australian witch hunt, one in which a mother was vilified – and painted by the media as a monster. For thirty years Lindy Chamberlain and her family stood firmly in their account of what happened on August 17th, 1980, maintaining their innocence – maintaining that their hands were clean … because the dingo did it.
