Have you ever been in a storm and felt afraid? In today’s episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark and hear the incredible story of Jesus calming the storm.

After a long day of teaching, Jesus and His disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee by boat. Many of the disciples were experienced fishermen, so they knew storms well—but this storm was terrifying. 

Today’s Key Truth:Storms do not mean Jesus has left us or stopped loving us. Jesus is powerful over creation, and He is also loving toward His people. When life feels scary, we can turn to Him, pray, ask for help, and remember His love shown clearly at the cross.

This episode is part of our Gospel of Mark series. Keep listening as Mark shows us, little by little, who Jesus truly is.

Scripture: Mark 4:21–34Series: Gospel of Mark, Part 14

In this episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark as Jesus teaches the crowds using parables.

Last time, we learned how people respond differently to God’s Word in the Parable of the Sower. Today, Jesus builds on that teaching and helps us understand something new: not just how we respond, but what God is doing.

Through the pictures of a lamp, a growing seed, and a tiny mustard seed, Jesus teaches us:

 God’s truth is like a light—it is meant to be seen, not hidden 

 God is always at work, even when we cannot see it 

 His kingdom may start small, but it grows strong and cannot be stopped

#415: Why Would You Hide a Lamp? - Mark part 14

Scripture: Mark 4:1–20 In this episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark as Jesus teaches beside the lake and tells the Parable of the Sower. Jesus uses the picture of a farmer scattering seed to help us understand what happens in our hearts when we hear God’s Word. Kids will be invited to ask: How do I respond when I hear God's word ?

In this story, the seed represents God’s Word, and the different soils represent the different ways people respond when they hear it. Some hearts are distracted, some seem joyful at first but have no root, some are crowded by worries and desires, and some receive the Word, accept it, and produce fruit. 

Big Takeaways:

God’s Word is like seed planted in our hearts.

Jesus teaches that people respond to God’s Word in different ways.

Sin can make our hearts hard, shallow, distracted, or crowded.

We need Jesus to forgive us, change us, and help us receive His Word by faith.

The “crop” Jesus talks about is not corn or tomatoes—it is a changed life that looks more like Christ through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Why would Jesus choose these men?

In today’s episode, we step into a moment where crowds are pressing in from every side—people eager to see Jesus, hear Him, and be healed. But then, something quieter—and just as important—happens.

Jesus goes up on a mountainside… and begins calling people to Himself.

One by one, He chooses twelve men—very different from each other—to be His apostles.

But this wasn’t random.

In this episode, kids will learn:

 Why Jesus chose twelve apostles 

 What the word “apostle” means 

 How this connects to the 12 tribes of Israel 

 Why Jesus chose such a variety of people 

 And what this teaches us about the family of God

#412: A Very Unlikely Team - Mark part 11

Mark 3:1–6

In today’s story, Jesus enters a synagogue on the Sabbath and meets a man with a shriveled hand. While others watch closely—waiting to see if Jesus will break their rules—Jesus does something unexpected.

He heals.

But instead of celebrating, the religious leaders become angry.

Why?

Because they cared more about their rules… than people.

In this episode, we explore what the Sabbath was meant to be, what the Pharisees misunderstood, and what it means to truly love God and others.

God’s laws are rooted in love—and they teach us how to love Him and others well.

👉 “Does following it help us love others?”

Scripture: Mark 2:18–28 In today’s episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark and hear Jesus answer some questions. Why weren’t His disciples fasting? Why did the Pharisees get upset when they picked grain on the Sabbath? And what was Jesus showing everyone about God’s law, grace, and what it really means to belong to Him?

Kids will learn that Jesus did not come to patch up an old system. He came to bring something new.

In this episode, kids will hear:

 What fasting means

 Why Jesus compared Himself to a bridegroom

 What new wine and old wineskins mean

 Why the Pharisees were upset about the Sabbath

Because we are accepted in Jesus, we obey out of love—not out of fear.

#410: Why Didn’t Jesus Follow Their Rules? - Mark Part 9

Luke 22:31-34, 54-62, & John 21:1-17

In today’s episode, we follow one of Jesus’ closest friends—Peter. From the quiet upper room, to the dark courtyard, and finally to breakfast on the beach, we’ll hear how Peter made a big promise to Jesus… and then broke it. But the story doesn’t end there.

 After Jesus rises from the dead, He lovingly gives Peter a second chance. This is a beautiful story of sadness, forgiveness, and hope—a reminder that Jesus never gives up on us, even when we mess up.

 

Big Ideas for Little Hearts:

 Jesus knows we’ll make mistakes, but He still loves us deeply.

 Peter denied Jesus three times, but Jesus forgave him and gave him a new job.

 Seeing the risen Jesus changed Peter from afraid to brave!

 No matter how far we run, Jesus welcomes us back and gives us a fresh start.

Easter part 5 BONUS: A Rooster and a Second Chance

John 19, Matthew 28, Luke 23, & 1 Corinthians 15:55

In this powerful Easter episode, we continue our journey following the sorrow of the cross to the joy of the resurrection. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus lovingly bury Jesus, and guards are posted at the tomb. But on the third day, something incredible happens—Jesus rises from the dead! With awe and joy, the women discover the empty tomb and meet Jesus alive again. 

Children are reminded that the cross was not the end—Jesus conquered sin and death, just like He said He would. Because He lives, we have forgiveness and hope!
