She kept going to a judge who didn’t care about God or people. She begged for justice until he finally gave in. Jesus used this story to teach us something powerful: God is not like that unfair judge. God is good, just, and always listening to our prayers.

In this episode, kids will learn:

 What a parable is.

 What justice means in words they can understand

 What it means to be persistent

 Why Jesus wants us to keep praying and not lose heart.

Together we’ll see how God hears us when we pray and promises to make all things right in His perfect timing.

 All of our readings have something in common....they speak of God's love for us. We are reminded of God's promises that hold true even when we do not feel it. The kids think about what having a bad day feels like and we discuss how feelings are important but sometimes, they can trick us to forget the truth. This is where we turn to our Bible and remind ourselves the truth of just how much God loves us regardless of if the day we are having feels like a good one or a bad one.

Luke 10:38-42
 Today, we hear the story of two sisters — Mary and Martha! They welcomed Jesus into their home. While Martha hurried about making everything just right, Mary quietly sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to every word He said.
 Jesus loved them both — the busy one and the quiet one — just like He loves you! Sometimes you’ll be like Mary, quietly close to Jesus. Other times you might be like Martha, busy with chores, homework, or sports that are yelling, “Do me first!” But Jesus gently reminds us: putting Him first is what matters most.
 Kids will hear what that actually looks like and are reminded He doesn’t love you because you work hard — psst! — you don’t have to earn His love. He loves you because you’re His.

#380: Martha’s Busy Hands, Mary’s Listening Heart

Mark 10:35–45
 In today’s episode, we hear the surprising story of James and John asking Jesus a very big question — and how the other disciples reacted! 
 Jesus teaches them (and us!) something amazing — true greatness doesn’t come from bossing people around or being first. It comes from serving others, just like Jesus did. He is the King of kings, but He came to help, love, and give His life for us.
 At the end, we talk about simple ways kids can follow Jesus’ example this week - to keep their eyes open for ways to be a helper. Helpers serve and whether it’s big or small, it makes a difference. 
 They are reminded that when you help someone, you are serving — just like Jesus did. He is our perfect example.------------

#379: Who Wants to Be First? — A Lesson from Jesus

John 4:1-16 & John 7:37-39
 At Jacob’s well, Jesus surprises a Samaritan woman by asking for a drink and then offering her “living water”—not the cool well water she expected. Kids will hear the conversation they have as the woman is puzzled by Jesus’ words. 
 She is also shocked that even though He knew her past, He spoke kindly and welcomed her.

#377: Growing Pains

Psalm 19:1-6 & Isaiah 40: 25-29
 Today's story reminds us why it's important to stop and take in the wonders God has created around us. They are true miracles that can point us back to Him, the Creator. You children are usually very good at this. You enjoy asking, "but why? Why do the leaves change color, why is the sky blue?" Even when we answer your questions with scientific words and terms we've made to describe what happens in nature, it does not take away the miracle behind how nature works. So kids, be curious; enjoy stopping and staring, and let what you learn make you marvel at how incredible our Creator is.
