Don't Be Sour

We're back in the new (almost-finished) studio for another loose, all-over-the-place episode with the whole crew. We kick things off catching up on life — golf trash talk, Chili's vs. Olive Garden debates, and a trip to Turkey that somehow turns into a full breakdown of hair transplants, finasteride, minoxidil, and TRT. From there we get real about hormones, side effects, and what it's actually like going through fertility treatments and hair loss in your 30s.
 
Things get even more personal as we dig into sleep tracking apps, wearables, and whether we're all a little too obsessed with optimizing our bodies. We swap old bodybuilding competition stories (peak week is rougher than you'd think), talk through the pressure of YouTube titles and clickbait, and have an honest conversation about growing up with successful parents, nepotism, and how we want to raise our own kids differently.
 
Naturally, we close it out bouncing between everything else on our minds — GTA VI, our all-time favorite video games, David's big move, and getting older in general. We also can't help but touch on the Tupac case update, the Diddy and Kanye conversations everyone's having, and a little bit of politics because why not. It's a long one, but if you like hanging out with us and hearing us talk about literally everything, this episode delivers.

Ep. 161 - Growing up Rich, Saying Goodbye & Big Regrets

It's another "emergency pod" episode of Don't Be Sour, kicked off in a new living room setup with a taste test of the upcoming Appleberry Ghost Sour Strips flavor. Things get chaotic fast as Max fesses up to an elaborate AI-assisted prank on Christian involving a "cracked" gym mirror, before the guys spiral into a wide-ranging debate on everything from mirror-breaking gym etiquette to Claude vs. ChatGPT to who really wears the better cologne.
 
From there the conversation swings through classic homeowner headaches (a $30K irrigation replacement, shower drains clogged with hair, questionable water filtration setups), a surprisingly deep dive into Maxx's struggles with procrastination and ADHD, and a hearty round of movie and TV takes covering Spider-Man, House of the Dragon, and why Hollywood can't stop recycling old IP.
 
The back half gets even more unfiltered, tackling a disturbing documentary on YouTuber EDP445, a play-by-play of Joe's first HOA meeting, and a heated debate over the WNBA's trans-athlete controversy. It's a longer, looser episode packed with random tangents, home renovation drama, and the usual chaotic energy — capped off with an update on the brand-new podcast studio that's finally under construction

Ep. 160 - Opening up, Homeowner Nightmares & Online Drama

We're back — kind of. The boys reunite for an emergency episode in a temporary setup while the brand new studio is still stuck in permit hell. Maxx, Joe, Christian, and Shawley catch up on everything that's been going on: Shawley's deep dive into Brazilian jiu-jitsu (yes, he goes every single day), Maxx learning Moonlight Sonata on the piano, Joe picking drums back up, and Christian's ongoing IVF journey with Heidi. Oh, and there's a trivia round that goes about as well as you'd expect.
 
The second half gets into some real talk — the housing market is rough, nobody can sell their house, Joe has mixed feelings about his F-250, and somehow the conversation spirals into stock market predictions, AI bubbles, and whether the Korean market crash is a warning sign for the US. Classic Don't Be Sour energy: start with jiu-jitsu, end with macroeconomics.
 
They close things out with a WNBA debate, some cologne recommendations nobody asked for, LeBron heading to Philly, and a full breakdown of the Fauci hearings and COVID vaccine controversy. No new studio, no fancy lighting, some echo — but the pod is back and that's what matters. Episode 160 in the new studio is coming soon. Probably.

Ep. 159 - Emergency Episode (urgent updates)

It's the last episode in the current studio, and the crew showed up early — like 6 AM early — to send it off right. Joe somehow dragged himself in a week after having a baby, Russell made a rare appearance, and the whole gang got together one more time before the move. Things kicked off with Joe deep in his Black Instagram era, sharing everything from pineapple Kool-Aid trends to cartoon food culture, then somehow spiraling into a full debate about prom send-offs and whether a military tank is an appropriate way to send your kid to prom.
 
From there the conversation went everywhere it had no business going — Drake's surprise triple album drop, the greatest rap albums of all time, the Michael Jackson biopic, MJ's allegations, Morgan Wallen saying the N-word, Chris Brown's ongoing controversies, Kanye's downfall, and the Kevin Hart roast. No topic was off limits and nobody held back. Classic Don't Be Sour energy from start to finish.
 
The back half of the episode had the guys debating Pokémon games, GTA VI hype, what happened to Halo, and Joe's surprisingly detailed history of owning nine-foot pet pythons. They wrapped things up talking about My Fit Foods, meal prep, and what it actually feels like to get older, slow down on social media, and prioritize family. It was a good one. See you in the new studio.

Ep. 158 - Our Final Podcast Episode

After two weeks off, the guys are back and wasting no time catching up. Joe kicks things off with the full story of his daughter Stevie's arrival — three weeks early, 22 hours of labor, a surprise water break on Amanda's birthday, a tense moment with the anesthesiologist, and a NICU scare that had everyone holding their breath. It's raw, real, and hilarious in all the right places.
 
From there the conversation flows naturally into new dad life, paternity leave debates, car upgrades (Joe bought an Escalade and may or may not have already ordered a TRX), Maxx's ongoing long hair journey, a surprisingly deep dive into Pokémon card collecting and PSA grading conspiracy theories, home design rabbit holes, and whether Christian's 49-fixture lighting quote for his house extension is a cry for help.
 
The back half gets into Iran and the oil market, the stock market doing its thing, and Christian's new "Brick" device that's physically locking him out of Instagram — sparking a bigger conversation about screen time, AI acting as a yes-man, and whether we're all just doom scrolling our way through life. Oh, and Joe asks the group a deeply personal question about breast milk. Standard episode. Don't Be Sour is back.

EP. 157 - Joe Had a Baby, Home Nightmares & Pokémon Problems

The boys are back and as chaotic as ever. This week kicks off with the group roasting a bad group photo, diving into Instagram's AI flash filter that's literally regenerating people's faces, and reminiscing about the FaceTune era — including some very detailed ab-etching confessions. From there it's the usual rabbit holes: Joe's dog is in diapers, someone got scammed at a gas station by a fake 8K projector, Maxx rolled his ankle attempting a skate trick and lost a tooth crown the same week, and somehow bathroom debates make yet another appearance.
 
The crew gets into the NBA playoffs in full detail, breaks down tipping culture (20% minimum vs. absolutely not at Starbucks), and has a surprisingly heated conversation about whether getting scammed is just a rite of passage at this point. There's also a full deep dive into AI pricing hikes, vibe coding, what each of them actually says when someone asks what they do for work, and whether saying "bye-bye" on the phone is genuinely weird or completely normal.
 
To close things out, the guys talk YouTube — subscriber counts, consistency struggles, and why Joe hasn't uploaded in nearly three years but keeps teasing it on his stories. Summer travel plans get floated, Maxx teases a podcast studio refresh, Christian's committing to a real upload schedule, and Joe's baby is officially weeks away. Same group, same energy, somehow always two hours long.

Ep. 156 - YouTube Struggles, Gen Z Problems & Tipping Culture Outrage

We're back with another episode of the Don't Be Sour Pod and the boys are in full form. We kick things off breaking down the Lakers vs Rockets playoff series, debating LeBron's legacy, Bronny's jitters, and whether the Rockets just have terrible IQ. From there we somehow end up deep in a Pokémon Nuzlocke rabbit hole, Christian drops his Summer Shredding 2026 announcement, and Joe gives us the full breakdown on the $230K prize money coming to this year's Summer Shredding championship with More Nutrition coming on board as a major sponsor.
 
The middle of this episode goes everywhere in the best way possible. Joe's robot vacuum dragged his dog's pee all over his house, Amanda is in her final 30 days of pregnancy and losing her mind, and we get into a real honest conversation about race in America — feeling out of place in certain spaces, the 30A Florida experience, Turkey Leg Hut stories, and whether generational racism is finally dying out. We also take a detour through the Milton Hershey story after Maxx's trip to Hershey Pennsylvania, which turns into a full chocolate history lesson nobody asked for but everyone needed.
 
The back half gets just as good — Joe finally breaks down and buys a new BMW X5 for Amanda, we debate what car you'd buy your kid at 16, share our wildest high school stories including house parties, jumping fences from cops, and Joe losing part of his finger at a party. We wrap things up talking about how different kids are today, the dead end sports debate, self-awareness, why society is burnt out from making 30,000 decisions a day, and end on the wild story of a guy bringing a gun into the White House. Another unfiltered, unscripted two hours with the crew.

Ep. 155 - Calling Each Other Out, Wild Stories & Raising Our Kids

The boys are back and wasting no time — this episode kicks off mid-conversation about Tropic Thunder and somehow spirals into a full debate on Druski doing white face, blackface in comedy, and whether any of it would fly today. From there they get into the Bubba Wallace noose situation, Jussie Smollett's wild story, and what went down when Black Twitter decided Houston was the spring break destination of the year. Russell gives a firsthand account of watching his city get absolutely taken over, and it's exactly as chaotic as you'd expect.
 
Things shift gears into some lighter territory — Maxx drops that he ran a 6:09 mile out of nowhere, the crew debates who's met the most famous celebrity, and Joe tells the story of moving into his new house with an unfortunate bumper sticker still on his truck. There's also a whole breakdown of the Linus Tech Tips private jet controversy, fake wealthy influencers, Justin Bieber's bizarre Coachella performance, and a heated argument about whether Brad Pitt or Arnold Schwarzenegger is more recognizable globally.
 
The back half gets surprisingly real when Shawley reveals he's having a boy, which opens up a genuine conversation about absent fathers, generational curses, and what each of them wants to do differently for their own kids. It's one of those episodes where you think it's just gonna be jokes and somehow you end up genuinely feeling something. Oh, and Shawley closes it out by describing in graphic detail where exactly he's chafing from his 10-mile treadmill runs. Classic.

Ep. 154 - Fake Wealth, Becoming a Parent & Racism Debate

Five guys, zero filters. This week the whole crew is back for a packed episode that somehow goes from debating Maxx's new haircut to deep geopolitical breakdowns. Along the way we get into whether Hollywood action movies have a woke agenda, David's mysterious Spain villa situation, and a very passionate argument about whether you should be using paper plates as a grown adult.
 
Things get real when we talk microplastics, a mile race challenge between Max and David, Joe's baby due date getting moved up out of nowhere, and the crew hyping up an upcoming gender reveal. We also dig into some movie and show recommendations — Invincible, The Housemaid, and a creepy Netflix limited series that's got Maxx hooked — plus a wild hypothetical about who in the group you'd take a jail sentence for.
 
We close it out with a long one on everything happening with Trump and Iran — the peace deal, the oil prices, the Strait of Hormuz, US funding of Israel, midterms, impeachment odds, and whether there's a power above the president pulling strings. Oh, and Melania said something about Epstein and the Luigi Mangione case might not be what it seemed. Just another normal Episode.

Ep. 153 - Big Arguments, Intense Choices & Trump Peace Deal

The boys are back for another unfiltered episode, and this one starts with a bang — Shawley drops the big news that his wife is pregnant, and the crew can barely contain their excitement. Between Christian nearly spoiling it multiple times over the past few weeks and Shawley's story of buying twelve pregnancy tests in one day just to be sure, the whole announcement is equal parts hilarious and genuinely heartfelt. The guys weigh in on gender predictions, debate baby names, and reflect on what fatherhood has meant to each of them.
 
From there, the conversation flows into the usual chaotic mix of life updates — Christian's new house is getting a controversial brick slurry makeover (the comment section is NOT happy), and the crew recaps an intense backyard basketball game that had everyone gassed out and talking trash. Maxx somehow drains back-to-back threes to save the series, Joe admits he couldn't make a single layup, and the whole thing devolves into a debate about running pace, body image, and whether Maxx could go sub-six on a mile.
 
The back half of the episode gets into some heavier territory — Tiger Woods' DUI footage, an influencer getting caught photoshopping her face onto another creator's body, Joe's deep dive into car depreciation and supercar history, and a candid conversation about Trump's Iran address, the ongoing conflict, and what it actually means for everyday people. The guys wrap it up with thoughts on the middle class, the Artemis moon launch, Joe's new allergy shot regimen, and Easter weekend plans. Another long one, another good one.
