Mysterious death of Mississippi Black teen. Doctor's ex-wife allegedly plots his murder. Plus, geofencing.

Andrea Canning sits down with Blayne Alexander to discuss her episode “The Bluegrass Mystery.” In October 2019, Glenn Jackson reported his wife, Ella, missing. The next day, her adult son, Phillip, did the same. After interviewing Glenn, Phillip, and Ella's ex-husband and close friend, Jason Hans, investigators focused on Glenn, based on his odd behavior and Ella's own words. Test results confirmed their thinking, and police arrested Glenn. But just before trial, a discovery changed everything. Blayne shares an exclusive clip with one of Ella's friends, who remembers her as a devoted mother to her young son, Alex. Blayne and Andrea also discuss the surprising and touching outcome for Alex after his mother’s death. Plus, we answer your questions from social media.

Andrea Canning sits down with Josh Mankiewicz to discuss his episode, “Out of the Darkness.” In 2016, Chacey Poynter called 911 in hysterics to report that her husband, Bob, a fire captain, had been fatally shot by a stranger on a Texas country road. When police arrived at the scene, they found a frantic Chacey covered in her husband’s blood. Investigators quickly surmised that her emotion and her story were far from genuine. Andrea and Josh discuss the intensity of Chacey’s reaction, captured on police body cam, as well as the role of life insurance policies can play in murders. Later, Josh shares a podcast-exclusive clip from his interview Bob’s mother. Then, in a podcast first, Josh invites Andrea to partake in a special Talking Dateline challenge.

Described as a one-in-a-thousand-year storm, water levels rose rapidly, trapping campers and counselors in their cabins, while others tried to seek higher ground. Of the 119 people who lost their lives in Kerr County, 27 were Camp Mystic campers and counselors. Morgan shares memories of growing up in the Texas Hill Country and what it was like to return home and cover the storm’s heartbreaking aftermath. Lester reflects on interviewing a young survivor and the grieving mothers who continue to seek answers about what happened and whether more could have been done.
