It didn't take long for Melinda Loveless, Laurie Tackett, Hope Rippey, and Toni Lawrence to be identified as the perpetrators of Shanda's murder. Some of the girls talked about it openly to friends. Investigators learned that it was Melinda Loveless who held a grudge against Shanda because she thought Shanda was messing around with her girlfriend, Amanda.
