Despite a reward of up to $1,000,000 and thousands of leads coming in, the best investigators can say is that the investigation is "definitely closer."
 
The search includes combing for a key piece of missing evidence: the suspect's cell phone. Sheriff Chris Nanos says cell towers in the area have been pinging, among other leads, in an effort to connect a digital trail.
 
He acknowledges that there is a lot more data, leads, and tips to be looked at.
