Everyone knew that Denise Anderson was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, Sheldon Davis. He was stalking her, had physically assaulted her, vandalized her car, and threatened her. Denise had gone to the police three times looking for help. But the law was clear: the police couldn't arrest Sheldon Davis on Domestic abuse charges, because Denise wasn't dating him anymore. By law, they were just "estranged friends." When her body was found at the end of the summer in 2019, dead inside a burning apartment, there really wasn't any question about who killed Denise.
