Crime Junkie

Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, four University of Idaho students in their 20s, were brutally murdered inside their off-campus home in the early morning hours on November 13, 2022. Two surviving roommates and a heartwrenching 911 call led police to discover the friends stabbed to death inside the three-story house at 1122 King Road. The safe place that once rang with parties, TikTok dances and laughter, was eerily silenced, surrounded by a nationwide media circus and sealed with crime scene tape. 

The murderer, Bryan Kohberger, a Ph.D student at Washington State University, pled guilty to all counts in exchange for the death penalty to be taken off the table. But still, the families of the victims, and everyone who has been consumed by this case since day one, want to know why Kohberger took these innocent lives.

In 1996, Boston saw one of the most brutal and now notorious murders of their city. But over 20 years later, not many people outside of Boston know the name of the Swedish nanny who was brutally murdered, dismembered and thrown away with the garbage on an early August morning. Elizabeth Barraza was 29 when she was gunned down in her driveway in Tomball, Texas, while setting up for a garage sale. The murder was so calculated and shocking, police were certain they'd catch her killer within hours. But years later, the case is still unsolved. And her family’s hoping that someone can help bring them the justice they've been desperately seeking.

MURDERED: Elizabeth Barraza

Through the '80s & '90s, women in the state of Washington were turning up dead. First, along the Green River, then in other clusters throughout the state and even into Portland, Oregon. Not only had these women been murdered but their killer would re-visit their corpses and sexually assault them multiple times until their corpses were fully decomposed and consumed by maggots. A man named Gary Ridgeway had been pointed out by a number of witnesses as being the Green River Killer but police were unable to make an arrest until DNA connected him to four crime scenes in 2001 – two decades and at least 49 victims later.
