Treasuries extended their declines and Asian bonds followed as renewed geopolitical tensions drove oil prices higher, fueling inflation concerns and expectations for further monetary tightening. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury rose three basis points to 4.78% in Asian trading, the highest since January 2025, while Japan’s 10-year government bond yield climbed to 2.985%. MSCI’s Asia Pacific equities gauge dropped 1.1%, snapping a four-day gain, with technology shares leading declines. The Kospi Index — a barometer for artificial intelligence investments — slid 2.5%, with chipmakers Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc. the biggest contributors. The big banks in China reported earnings with state owned lenders producing higher first half profits. The results offer fresh evidence of improvements in China's banking industry after a prolonged margin squeeze. Nvidia Outlook Boosts Tech Stocks, Warsh's Jackson Hole Debut

Nvidia, the chipmaker at the heart of the artificial intelligence boom, gave a bullish sales outlook for fiscal 2028, easing concerns that AI spending is poised to lose momentum. "We expect to grow revenue by approximately 70% in fiscal 2028," Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress said during a post-earnings conference call. Analysts have projected a rise of about 45% for that year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Moreover, Nvidia would be growing even faster if it had access to more supplies, she said. "Incredibly, we are seeing demand acceleration even at our scale," she said. "Customers' forecasts point to our growth doubling next year." We spoke to Daniel Newman, CEO of The Futurum Group.
 
Nvidia's bullish sales outlook boosted stocks and futures, bolstering optimism that this year's rally in artificial intelligence shares has further to run. Bloomberg's Haidi Stroud-Watts spoke to Sean Darby, Asia Managing Director at Mizuho Securities.

The MSCI Asia Pacific equities gauge slipped 0.5%, with South Korean chip bellwethers SK Hynix Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. contributing most to the decline. The losses followed a selloff in semiconductor giants on Wall Street that dragged the Nasdaq 100 Index down nearly 1% on Monday, while Nvidia Corp. posted its longest losing streak since 2022.
