In 2009, millionaire Ben Novack was murdered in Rye Brook, NY. The son of parents who once owned the famed Miami hotspot, the Fontainebleau Hotel, and a business mogul in his own right, he was described by friends as a brat with a lot of enemies. Police suspected his wife Narcy, but did not have enough evidence to charge her. Then, they received a letter in Spanish, which stated that Narcy Novack and her brother Cristobal Veliz were responsible for the crime. “48 Hours" correspondent Troy Roberts reports. On July 29, 2007, Shea McDonough of Chelmsford, Mass., returned home and left the back door open for her brother, not knowing he was spending the night at a friend’s house. Hours later, her parents were startled by a sound coming from her room. When her father went to Shea's room to check on her, he saw a large masked man standing over her with a knife at her throat. On March 18, 2010, Jamie Laiaddee vanished from her home in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. Her live-in boyfriend Bryan Stewart told everyone she had moved to Denver, Colorado to take a new job. In December 1996, Atlanta resident David Coffin returned home from a weekend away with his girlfriend, Megan Lee, to find it had been ransacked and his Porsche was stolen. Two days later, David's house caught on fire and he was found dead inside. On June 29, 2009, Brian Davis disappeared. According to his wife, Robyn, and her best friend, Carol Saltzman, Brian had left to go boat shopping and never came home. Police soon began to suspect the women when an examination of their cell phone records convinced police that they were lying.
