In December 1996, Atlanta resident David Coffin returned home from a weekend away with his girlfriend, Megan Lee, to find it had been ransacked and his Porsche was stolen. Two days later, David's house caught on fire and he was found dead inside. Police zeroed in on Scott Davis, Megan's estranged husband, as a suspect when he revealed he knew David died from a gunshot wound and not due to the fire. “48 Hours" correspondent Maureen Maher reports. The Haunting of David Coffin

Susan Wright was a 27-year-old stay-at-home mother from Texas who stabbed her husband, Jeff, 193 times. She claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse and that on January 13, 2003, her husband attacked her with a knife and she fought back in self-defense. But a jury found her guilty of murder and sentenced her to twenty-five years in prison. Six years later, a new attorney took on her case to get her sentence reduced. When Christian Gerhartsreiter moved to the U.S. from Germany, he pretended to be a bond trader, a TV producer, a baronet and even Clark Rockefeller, a member of the famous and wealthy Rockefeller family. In 2008, Gerhartstreiter, then claiming to be Clark Rockefeller, made headlines when he abducted his 7-year-old daughter. The Rockefeller family made it clear that he was not a part of their family. Part one of the investigation into the murder of 37-year-old Peggy Hettrick. In February 1987, her mutilated, half-naked body was discovered in a field near the Colorado home of Tim Masters, a 15-year-old boy. He told police he had seen the body on his way to school but, thinking it was a mannequin, did not report it. Masters then became a suspect when police searched his home and found a collection of knives and his graphic drawings of murder and mutilation. But police couldn't find any evidence linking him to the crime and he was not arrested. The case went cold, but ten years later, police would re-open their investigation into Masters. “48 Hours" correspondent Susan Spencer reports. The couple had two children, but their marriage began to fall apart and Nina began an affair with Sean Sturgeon, Hans’ best friend.
