Following a live mammogram on "Good Morning America" to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Robach, then 40, received a phone call several weeks later, in Oct. 2013, telling her she had stage 2 invasive breast cancer. Very soon after her diagnosis, Robach underwent a double mastectomy, followed by eight rounds of chemotherapy and then breast reconstruction surgery. She has been candid about the challenges of breast cancer treatment, and equally passionate about the importance of early detection and community building for others.
