Greenwashing (do look that up) might sound like a bad thing - but to us, it is a big thumbs up for ESG. And so does lack of transparency and sloppy metrics. What it actually means is Investors wouldn’t care about metrics or transparency unless they were using it to invest - a good thing. Someone is asking for ESG, so others are greenwashing - again, a good thing. Clearly, some groups of individual and institutional investors (not everyone, but enough) — not only care about environmental impact and risk but are willing to put real money on it.
