It was in this scenario that Roy Raymond, a young entrepreneur frustrated with the experience of buying lingerie for his wife in traditional stores, had a revolutionary idea: to create a brand that transformed the purchase of lingerie into a sophisticated and empowering experience. In 1977, Raymond opened the first Victoria 's store. Secret at Stanford Mall in California. He envisioned a space where men would feel comfortable buying intimate gifts for their partners, without the embarrassment they often faced in conventional stores. To achieve this, he created an elegant atmosphere, with Victorian decor, soft lighting and display cases displaying delicate and seductive pieces.
