The Word of Gods

When humans first looked up at the stars with wonder, they knew there were gods.

Those gods spoke to humanity, and for thousands of generations, the word of many gods was handed down, amended, and handed down again. Over time, mysticism became ritual, and with the advent of the written word, rituals became orthodoxy. The stories in this book describe how humans heard the word of their gods down through the ages, and how we learned that the gods' words were a source of great power.

Beginning in prehistory and marching into the twentieth century, these stories imagine how the leaders of many peoples used the power inherent in the word of their gods to shape cultures and destinies.
