The Pact of Empires: The World They Divided

What if the most dangerous outcome of war was the peace that followed?

December 1940. Germany and the Soviet Union sign a pact that changes history. Operation Barbarossa never begins. Britain eventually accepts an armistice. Europe’s authoritarian empires endure.

For diplomat Erich Adler and Soviet interpreter Anastasia Morozova, the agreement opens a future neither expected—and binds their lives to a peace built on secrets. As officials negotiate, intelligence networks manoeuvre and survivors struggle to preserve evidence, every compromise carries a human cost.

When Hitler’s death brings a struggle over Germany’s future, those who helped sustain the old order must confront what they knew, what they signed and what they chose to ignore.

Blending political intrigue, espionage and intimate human drama, The Pact of Empires explores a world spared one catastrophic war but still shaped by persecution, repression and concealed crimes.

A war prevented. A continent divided. A reckoning postponed.
