When Dexter realises he won't be allowed to join the Resistance movement's fight against the evil Evan Kostroff, he flees from Bear Island with his fact-babbling chimpanzee friend Thomas. They set off in a submarine towards Kostroff's space base on Volcano Island, where Professor Ubu-Tutu is attempting to mass-produce invisibility belts. Thomas's homesickness leads them to the jungles of Africa, and it becomes a race against time as Dexter is hunted from all sides.
