Survival at all costs

The world still exists here, but most of its inhabitants are gone. Millions of years ago, a disastrous event occurred elsewhere in the Milky Way, and now it pushes Earth's population towards extinction.

In the scenic peninsula of Sjövik in Sweden, one family has fortunately escaped death and illness. They are protected from the collapsing world and are battling against time, disease, and those who seek to take what they possess. The Kaminski family are a typical Swedish family. One is an officer, one a professor, a journalist, a homemaker, and a hundred neighbours and friends who all stand with them to defend their lives and livelihoods.

Children are born, people pass away, and occasionally the future appears promising. However, time and nature rarely show mercy. Sixteen years after the apocalypse, a sudden chance presents itself, and they take it — though the new excitement tests their courage, strength, loyalty, and resilience. As they prepare to leave their home for another part of the world, they realise they may have hoped too much, yet they confront every challenge and the weather with quiet determination and continue forward, regardless. But is their sacrifice justified?
