Historie
In the early morning hours of October 9th, 1995, Amtrak's Sunset Limited - which regularly traveled between coasts - slipped off of the tracks in rural Arizona.
As investigators began looking into the cause of this wreck, they discovered that this was no accident. A group (or an individual masquerading as a group) had conspired to make this derailment happen, leaving four copies of a rambling & poetic "manifesto" at the crime scene.
All four letters were signed with the same moniker: "Sons of the Gestapo" (or, abbreviated, "S.O.G."). Despite an investigation that has spanned more than two decades, looked into extremist groups across North America, and offered up a $310,000 reward, the train's saboteurs have never been identified.
