Short Stories about the Duality of Human Nature

Simply put at any one time we are who we say we are. That person is us. 100%. Of course, that person is a complex mix of many things. It’s therefore not so much of a surprise that moods and emotions, even ever-moving combinations of them or even drugs and other concoctions can make us seem like different people—with a different outlook, a different perspective and therefore able, or perhaps compelled, to act differently in any given circumstance.

Authors have long used this device to show the two sides, the duality, of human nature. We can immediately grasp this when we think of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde or a story about twins who seem to uncannily know just what the other is thinking. But it also happens in so many other ways, for the greater good or, more usually, the personal evil as our very talented authors now ably demonstrate.
