Holmes and Watson race to the countryside and dramatically intervene just in time to stop a sham wedding in a remote cottage. The story ends with the villains exposed and Violet safely reunited with her true fiancé. It’s a fast-paced story that highlights Holmes’s skill at reading tracks and timing.
