Power comes at a price, and I've got quite the debt to settle.

The midterms are over, and I've succeeded, not only in passing, but I've also managed to increase my blood rank from E to D, something that's never been done before. With all my recent successes, I should be satisfied with my progress.

Not a chance.

Cromwell's don't settle, and I'm not going to stop until I climb to the very top and stand proud next to my sister and all of the other prodigies at S-Rank.

But it was foolish of me to believe I could defy the natural order of the world and just climb the ranks freely and that there wouldn't be consequences. My explosive increase in power has left my mana well fractured. It's falling apart, and if it crumbles, then I'm as good as dead.

There are no easy answers; no quick fixes to save me. If I'm going to repair my well, let alone keep ascending the ranks, I'm going to have to find a solution, and soon.

Because I only have a few weeks left to live.
