The villagers of Badger’s End eagerly await St. Bartholomew’s Week, an annual celebration of the church’s founding filled with pageantry, merriment, and a grand feast that draws visitors from miles around.

But this year’s festivities are thrown into jeopardy when the church bell ringer is found dead on the rocks below Devil’s Cauldron.
