In fact her family is not notified until a day in a half later. And it wasn’t the police that broke the news to the Fields’ family, it was her landlord. September 2, 2010 - a 911 call comes in requesting help. When deputies arrive at the scene they find a woman that is unresponsive. The 911 caller is the homeowner, boyfriend of the woman and a deputy as well. He tells his fellow officers that he was outside in the garage when he heard a shot. He says he ran inside and heard a second shot. He tells emergency services and the responding officers that his girlfriend shot herself after the two broke up that night. It was immediately apparent that it was his service gun that was used in the shooting. What is unclear is whose finger pulled the trigger. This began one incredibly questionable investigation. Was the Sheriff’s office covering for one of their own? Join us in the Garage as we review the suspicious death of Michelle O’Connell.

In the early morning hours of Monday, April 17, 2023 around 12:30 a.m., the Department of Public Safety received a 9-1-1 call of a vehicle on fire on interstate 10 outside of Tonopah, Arizona. The Fire Department extinguished the fire and found 22-year-old Mercedes Vega inside deceased. This vehicle fire quickly became a homicide investigation. Stephen Singular’s 1999 book Presumed Guilty: An Investigation of the JonBenet Ramsey Case, the Media, and the Culture of Pornography is an eye opening read. In which, Singular discusses some of the lesser known characters of the case, his findings, and magnifies the problems with the murder investigation. An updated Kindle version was released in 2016 with new information and some intriguing leads.
