This rich collection of tales from Norway contains stories never printed in English or at all. You'll meet the dawning of life retold, where first man and woman emerge from the trunks of two trees laying on the sea shore. You'll discover raw and shocking fairytales, and other tales lyrical and sweet. As well as these, there are legends from the underworld of the indigenous people of Norway, the Sami. These were gathered by Norwegian storyteller Georgiana as she wandered for seven weeks on the islands of Lofoten, sleeping in a hammock and speaking with people living in the harsh and beautiful landscape. Many told their own encounters with folk from 'the other world.'
