She beat off stiff competition but Liz Truss is, finally, after "the longest job interview in history", the new leader of the Conservative Party and very shortly the leader of the country.

But now the leadership contest is over and a tsunami of real life troubles is headed for Westminster, how will the next PM fare in choppy waters? And which colleagues will be thrown a life-jacket in the form of a new job, and whose Cabinet careers will collapse like a poorly made sandcastle?
