Some truths never see the light. Gilbert has long believed that Jeremy Scott is responsible for more deaths than the state acknowledges—especially the unsolved murder of a cab driver in Intercession City. Then, out of nowhere, a retired detective—the one who led the investigation that resulted in the arrest and eventual acquittal—reaches out to Gilbert, offering to help.
