In the Laboratory (The Sherlock Holmes Advent Calendar: The Arrival of the Saviour, Episode 17)

Behind the secret door in the library, Holmes and Watson feel their way along a narrow tunnel inside the walls of the Abbey of the Redeemer with only an oil lamp to guide them – past a peephole behind the chapel altar, until they reach a heavy door. Beyond it lies a hideout from the Wars of Religion, fitted out as a secret laboratory: test tubes, gas burners, a hand-cranked centrifuge and medical instruments for blood transfusions. Holmes picks up an empty reliquary vial – the blood of Jesus Christ – and is on the trail of a monstrous, sacred experiment. Does the blood of the Messiah now flow in the veins of the murderer? Then the door slams shut behind them and a key turns in the lock: Holmes and Watson are trapped like lab rats. Is there a way out of the hidden vault…? This radio play was produced with the help of Eleven Labs and using properly licensed voice clones, and was checked by human proofreaders.
