On Holocaust Remembrance Day, a new survey by Claims Conference finds that many Americans are forgetting. 31% of Americans and 41% of Millennials believe fewer than two million Jews were killed in the Holocaust, when the actual number is around 6 million. 41% of Americans and 66% of Millennials have no idea what Auschwitz was. And 61% of all Americans don’t know that Hitler was democratically elected.
