Dreams of Home
Dreams of Home by Migdalia Cruz dives deep into the bleak and ever-challenging world of the New York City homeless. Pedro, a Latino former-playboy down on his luck, and Sandra, a ruined beauty-turned-tramp slowly succumbing to illness, tentatively explore an unexpected romance, on the 6-train subway platform at 103rd and Lexington. Over the course of one 24-hour period, the desperate pair revisits their hardscrabble pasts through ominous dreamscapes, with the Angel of Death acting as Tour Guide. A Latino Chicago Theatre co-production. An L.A. Theatre Works full cast performance featuring: Lisa Marie Ackel as Lettie/Woman Noe Cuellar as Jasper/Woman Frankie Davila as Hobie Laurie Martinez as Dolores Rita Moreno as Sandra Juan A. Ramirez as Pedro Directed by Jose Garcia. Recorded before a live audience at the Guest Quarters Suite Hotel, Chicago in March of 1993.
