Sleep architecture refers to the structured cycling between sleep stages that the brain performs every ninety minutes throughout the night. The deepest and most restorative of these stages — N3, or slow-wave sleep — is characterised by delta brainwaves in the 1-3 Hz range.
This recording provides sustained binaural frequencies within that exact band, designed to support and extend the time spent in deep N3 sleep. The session opens with a brief theta introduction (5 minutes) before descending into the delta range, where it remains for the full duration.
A minimal ambient texture supports the frequency without introducing any stimulating elements. Research suggests that external auditory stimulation at delta frequencies can enhance slow-wave activity during sleep, potentially improving memory consolidation, immune function, and next-day cognitive performance.
This recording is designed to be played through the night at low volume. The sustained delta frequencies create a stable acoustic foundation that supports uninterrupted deep sleep, allowing the brain to spend more time in its most restorative phase.
