Categorising Creature

This is a short story set in a world of stardust and scrap metal. The protagonist, Kaelen, is a Scavenger Technomancer—a wizard who breathes life into the discarded husks of ancient machines. He doesn't cast spells with wands, but with rusted circuits and glowing capacitors salvaged from the ruins of a forgotten civilization.

His companion is Yevam, an Astral Dragon whose scales shimmer like oil on water. Yevam is no ordinary beast; he is a creature of pure energy, bound to a mechanical core that Kaelen painstakingly repaired. Together, they navigate the shifting dunes of the Iron Wastes, hunting for the 'Primal Signal'—a mythic data stream said to hold the key to restoring the dying sun.
