Anna Karenina

An all-time favourite romance novel by Tolstoy is definitely one of his master-piece creation. The story is about the vagaries of the heart that confuses itself when it comes to searching for true love and at the same time trying to fit in the norms laid down by the society. Anna Karenina is the heroine of the novel who seems to have fallen in 'true' love while having an extra marital affair but at the same time is also disgusted by herself when her husband shows towards her at certain point of time. It is the dilemmas faced by her as she questions herself for her thoughts and actions that forms the essence of the story and how the society by large is responsible for shaping one's ideals and ethics.
