William F. Nolan (1928–2021) was an American author whose career stretched across science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, biography, film, and television. He is best remembered as the co-author, with George Clayton Johnson, of the 1967 novel Logan’s Run, later adapted into the well-known 1976 film.

Nolan was also a prolific short-story writer and part of a remarkable circle of California writers that included Ray Bradbury, Charles Beaumont, and George Clayton Johnson.
